Upgraded Domestic LGF-PP Empowers China Modified Plastics to Serve Global Automotive Component Supply Chain

The global trend of lightweighting continues to advance, and automakers and component suppliers are constantly optimizing their material selection standards. Long glass fiber reinforced polypropylene (LGF-PP), with its advantages of low density, high rigidity, low-temperature resistance, and outstanding molding stability, is gradually replacing traditional metals and short fiber plastics, making it a globally sought-after category of modified materials for the automotive industry.

As the source factory deeply engaged in the research and production of modified PP and PA66 made of long glass fiber, our company relies on more than 20 years of formula refinement and optimized mass production processes. Multiple grades, such as LGF-PP10, LGF-PP20, LGF-PP30, LGF-PP40 and LGF-PP50, are exported in batches to Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, including core component supporting projects such as suspension lever base, engine decorative cover, car sunroof guide rail, and door inner frame.

Different from conventional short glass fiber PP, our factory’s continuous long glass fiber impregnation and coating production process allows the glass fibers to be arranged in a continuous orientation in the matrix, improving the material’s creep resistance and impact resistance by more than 40%. It is not easy to warp or deform under high and low temperature cycling conditions, and is perfectly suitable for rigorous testing of passenger and commercial vehicle components. Customized special formulas for weather-resistant modification, low VOC, oil-resistant, and flame-retardant modification are available for different overseas driving environments. We have developed a low-temperature toughening grade long glass fiber PP for the Nordic high-altitude market, which shows no brittle cracking at -40°C. We have also optimized an anti-hydrolysis formula for Southeast Asia’s hot and humid climate, making it suitable for long-term use in tropical car accessories.

Relying on a large-scale fully automated extrusion production line, the factory has achieved independent control over the entire process from raw material modification and granulation to performance sampling. Each batch of products is equipped with a full set of export certifications such as SGS, ROHS, and REACH, which can meet the environmental compliance standards of the European Union and North America. With the acceleration of the global trend of domestic substitution of auto parts, more and more overseas auto parts processing factories are abandoning high-priced European and American raw materials and choosing Chinese-made long glass fiber PP. Our company continues to offer overseas sampling and customized formula services, relying on mature shipping links of sea and land transportation. Small batch samples and large batch full container exports can be stably delivered, and with highly cost-effective modified raw materials, we have opened up a channel for Chinese modified plastics to enter the global automotive parts industry chain.

In the future, the factory will continue to increase its research and development of lightweight new materials, while simultaneously expanding the use of long glass fiber modified materials for new energy vehicle battery brackets and charging pile housings. It will keep up with the global trend in the new energy vehicle industry and continue to empower the global automotive component lightweighting initiatives.
